Welcome to our home

Owner-run hospitality on the edge of the Okavango Delta.

Semowi Severine and Morgan

TWO PEOPLE, ONE DREAM

Semowi Nature Camp is the result of two different journeys that came together through a shared love for Botswana.

Morgan was born and raised in Botswana and has spent more than 25 years guiding guests through some of the country’s most remarkable wilderness. His deep understanding of wildlife and the bush comes from a lifetime spent outdoors, sharing unforgettable experiences with visitors from around the world.

Séverine is originally from Switzerland. After working as a cardiology nurse and later owning a successful photography studio in the United States, she discovered Botswana and knew she had found a place unlike anywhere else.

Together, they created Semowi as a small, owner-run camp where every guest receives a personal welcome. Their goal was never to build the biggest lodge, but to create a place where people can slow down, reconnect with nature and experience Botswana through those who call it home.

Today, Semowi remains a reflection of that vision: authentic, peaceful and deeply connected to the land, the wildlife and the people who make this corner of the Okavango Delta so special.

A CAMP THAT LIVES WITH NATURE

Our Farm, Animals & Garden

Semowi is more than a safari camp, it’s our home. Around the camp you’ll find a small vegetable garden, free-ranging chickens, a growing herd of dairy goats, and even our friendly resident pig, all part of everyday life here. Fresh herbs, vegetables and eggs are regularly harvested for our kitchen, adding a homegrown touch to many of the meals we serve.

Our animals aren’t here as an attraction. They are simply part of who we are and how we live. Many guests enjoy wandering through the garden, meeting the goats, watching the chickens roam freely, or stopping by to say hello to our pig. It’s these little moments, alongside the incredible wildlife of the Okavango, that make a stay at Semowi feel so genuine and memorable.

THE FRIENDLY FACES AROUND CAMP

The Characters of Semowi

Life at Semowi wouldn’t be the same without our dogs and cats, who each play an important role around the camp.

Our dogs are part of our security team. When the camp is quiet, they patrol the property and help discourage wildlife from wandering too close. When guests are staying with us, they remain in our private garden during the day, where they’re always happy to say hello if invited. At night, they sleep inside our home, ensuring both our guests and the surrounding wildlife can enjoy the peace and quiet of the African bush.

Our cats have an equally important job. By keeping the rodent population under control, they naturally help reduce the chances of snakes settling around the camp.

Together with our farm animals, they are simply part of everyday life at Semowi. They help us care for the camp while adding to the warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes our little corner of Botswana feel like home.

We hope that when you leave Semowi you will remember the quiet mornings, conversations around at the deck, the birds outside your tent and the feeling of having spent a few days in a place that truly feels like home.

{ Séverine and Morgan have created a truly special place, built around sustainable tourism and a genuine respect for nature. Every detail, from the thoughtful use of natural materials to the peaceful riverside setting, reflects their passion for preserving the beauty of the Okavango. We received a wonderfully warm welcome from Séverine and the entire team. Our beautifully decorated luxury tent was exceptionally comfortable, and the terrace overlooking the Gomoti River was the perfect place to relax. Falling asleep to the sounds of hippos was an unforgettable experience. As the first stop on our Botswana road trip, Semowi was the perfect introduction to the country, its incredible nature and the warm hospitality of its people. We couldn't have wished for a better start and wholeheartedly recommend staying here. {

{ Don't look any further. Semowi is a truly special place, created with love and care in a peaceful corner of the Okavango Delta. Even the journey there is part of the adventure, crossing seasonal waterways and winding through sandy tracks before arriving at this hidden oasis. Breakfast and dinner were both delicious, and every moment felt relaxed and welcoming. If you have the chance, don't miss a morning visit to Elephant Havens. It's an unforgettable experience. {

{ The beautiful terrace overlooking the peaceful surroundings quickly became one of our favourite places. The kindness and genuine care of the team, with Séverine's personal touch felt throughout the camp, made our stay truly special. We spent two nights at Semowi and were perfectly happy simply relaxing without feeling the need to leave for activities. After several days of safari, it was the perfect place to slow down, unwind and enjoy the peace of the Okavango. {
